What is 3D TV?

All 3D TVs, just like those old movies shown in blue and red, display two views of the scene. The newest 3DTVs dont require the blue and red glasses as they are much more sophisticated. The images also look better so there is more depth and not an awful blue and red picture in your living room! In the last couple of years autostereoscopic 3D displays, which are so good they dont require users to wear special 3D glasses, have been introduced. This is the future of 3D TV but at the moment each TV costs around £10,000. Until that cost comes down the new 3D TVs are only about £300 more than a standard TV so very accessible. We will have right here as soon as they are released 3DTV reviews. So far several manufactures have annouced 3DTVs and we'll have 3DTV reviews here as soon as we can.

So what's so exciting?

Pixar and Disney say that every new film will be now produced in 2D and 3D, so soon you can watch these at home as well as at the cinema. Keep coming back here for 3DTV reviews so you know what to buy.

Teen orientated slasher movies such as the next Friday the 13th and Final Destination will scare audiences by having axes and bullets being fired into the audience and heads flying out of the screen into your lap. Imagine that!

Football will all be massive in 3D and on your 3DTV. The ball wilil fly out of the screen, the goaly will jump towards you for that save, the free kick will swerve out of the screen into your living room and then into the goal!

Business summits in 3DTV  - Have you got people all around the world? Discuss your products with real 3D demos.

Watch the Olympics in 3D on your 3D TV. With a 3DTV you can have the javeline enter your room or have the splash from the swimmers who dive into the pool come into your living room.

The first ever 3D TV broadcast

The first ever 3D TV broadcast was on April 2nd 2009. Sky broadcast a performance by Keane live from Abbey Road Studios via its satellite network to a Sky+ HD set-top and a domestic 3D-Ready TV. Sky claims that it was the first TV company in Europe to broadcast a live event in 3D. We will bring you the latest 3DTV reviews as soon as we can and keep you up to date with 3DTV releases.

Do you need 3D glasses?

There are loads of smart and stylish 3D glasses coming onto the market for digital 3D TV and Movies. Many articles online cite the future glasses being created by people like Ray Ban and Oakley but we haven't heard much from these companies about this yet. When we see them on sale we'll put the links up right away. We will have 3DTV reviews of both types, those that need glasses and those that dont.

The most basic are the standard Circular Polarized 3D glasses. These are only suitable for the cinema but are much more comfortable than the ones they give you.

You can of course still buy red/blue glasses on Amazon.   Click here to buy the "Thumbs Up 3D Glasses"alt

3DTV Reviews will bring you many 3DTV reviews of all different types of 3DTVs. When each new TV comes out there will be a dedicated review for each TV and you can be certain that each 3DTV review will be all you need to help you choose which 3DTV to buy. We are dedicated to helping you buy your 3DTV and without 3DTV Reviews you will be left with a 2D TV or maybe even something without 3D and you wont want to be left behind.

Each 3DTV review will include full specifications of the 3DTVs, what they can and can't do and an overall rating of each 3DTV. The 3DTV review will also include a star rating made up by several categories so you can pick which elements of each 3DTV review is important for you.

3DTVs are going to be very popular in the next couple of years with a recent report saying that 46 million 3DTVs will be in homes by 2013.
